By Jim Probst | I composed this instrumental on the front deck of the northernmost house on the California coast, called Casa Rubio (which means ‘Blonde House’ in Spanish). We were renting an AIR BnB and I was sitting there watching a huge flock of pelicans bobbing in the waves and diving for fish as a storm came in from across the Pacific. The song begins as the waltz of the pelicans. It goes on to describe the wind and the rain, the thunder and lightning, and finally the calm after the storm. It’s my oldest song.
NOTE: I play my songs for Ray Garnett and he adds to them as he sees fit. He is an amazing musician to play with and I don’t attempt to dictate what he brings to the tunes. I love what he brings to the mix.
